Custom Order

If you're interested in a custom order I will do my best to fulfill your vision and make it a reality. Often times the best way to start is sending me several pictures of your ideas along with a description of specific elements that you'd like included. It also helps to give me an idea of your budget so I can adjust the carving and design to meet your goals. I will provide a free rough sketch of the design and once that is agreed upon I work on the final design. I provide an estimate of the cost of the carving and I require a 25% down payment. Once that is received and the final design is agreed upon I begin the carving.

Pricing

The cost for a carving is very difficult to establish as each project is unique and varies from one to the next. Some elements to consider that can drastically change the price is size, type of wood used, depth of the carving, and level of detail. Softer woods (pine, basswood, butternut) are much easier to carve so in return they take less time. Medium and deep relief projects will take more time because more wood needs to be removed in comparison to shallow relief. If a carving has a large amount of small intricate detail work then that will lengthen the time spend carving as well.
